I just love the color yellow. Look at how this front door screams "Welcome!"...In 2009 it really jumped on to the scene in a powerful way...I mean, it was everywhere...In fashion trends & home accessories (I feel are the most important ones, anyway!) Well guess what...This color is not dead...This season, it's back for yet another round. I can't wait to rock some more yellow and gray outfits...Oh oh oh...yellow and hot pink, Yellow with black and white...hummm, yellow and turquoise...I'm even feelin' yellow and chocolate brown...yeah babyee!!!

Anyhow, we tried out that fabulous cupcake recipe, I posted and here are some pix...

{Easter Cupcakes}

Try these Oh so yummy cupcakes over the weekend...My children and I will be trying out this recipe also...Happy Good Friday!

Prep Time: 15 min Level: Easy Yield: 1 cupcake

Ingredients

1 vanilla cupcake, recipe follows

About 1/3 cup White Fluff Frosting recipe follows

Green coconut grass, recipe follows

6 small candied malt balls (2 yellow, 2 pink, 2 white)

1 yellow chick peep

White Airhead candy

Directions

Frost a cupcake with fluff frosting. Press a circle of coconut grass on top. Nestle the malted eggs on top of the grass. Gently press the peep onto the center of the grass. Cut the white Airhead into a 1/2 oval shape; trim one side so it has a cracked egg jagged edge. Place egg next to chick.

Vanilla Cupcakes:

2 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
2/3 cup milk
2/3 cup water
2* cake flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 12-cup cupcake tins with paper liners. (To avoid cupcakes sticking if they overflow slightly, lightly spray the tops of the pans.) Put tins on a baking sheet. Set aside.

Process sugar and butter in a food processor until very creamy, scraping sides as needed, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the eggs and yolks, one at a time, pulsing after each addition. Add the milk, water, and vanilla and process to blend.

Whisk both flours, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add the dry ingredients, in 3 batches to the wet, pulsing, and then scraping batter off the sides of the processor as needed after each addition. Process until the batter is very smooth and pourable like pancake batter, about 2 minutes.

Evenly pour the batter into the prepared cups, filling them 3/4 of the way full. Bake until the cakes are just firm and spring back when gently pressed, and the tops are golden, 18 to 25 minutes. Cool slightly in tin, and turn out of tin when cool enough to handle. Cool cupcakes completely on a rack before frosting.

Yield: 24 cupcakes

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Inactive Prep Time: 30 minutes

Ease of preparation: easy

Fluff Frosting:

1/4 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
5 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup marshmallow fluff
Pinch fine salt

Whisk the milk and vanilla extract together in a small bowl.

Slowly beat the butter and sugar, in another medium bowl, with an electric mixer until incorporated. Raise the speed to high and mix until light and fluffy, about 5 to 7 minutes. (Occasionally turn the mixer off, and scrape the sides of the bowl down with a rubber spatula.) Add the fluff and salt and reduce the speed to low. Add the milk and vanilla mixture, scrape the bowl down, and mix until fully incorporated. Raise the mixer to high and beat briefly until fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Frost cupcake immediately.

Coconut Easter Grass for Cupcakes:

2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid green food coloring
1/2 to 1 teaspoon liquid yellow food coloring

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a mesh rack on top, if available.

Put coconut in a shallow bowl. While tossing with a large spoon, add food coloring drop by drop until the desired color is reached. A little more green than yellow makes a pretty grass color. Add a few tablespoons water to moisten the mixture and help disperse the color evenly. If the color is too dark, add additional water, as needed, to dilute to the desired color. Drain the coconut in a sieve or strainer.

Spread the coconut in an even layer on the rack, or directly on the lined baking sheet. Place in the oven until dry, about 10 to 15 minutes. Use immediately, or store in covered container for up to 3 days.

Cook's Note: Food coloring can be messy and can stain your skin. To prevent this, wear latex gloves. You may find it easier to color the coconut in a large zip top plastic bag, tossing it to color evenly.

Yield: 2 cups coconut grass

my mummy inspired me to do the whole blogging, after i started helping her out on her blog, i found interest. She said "you should get a blog? This seems something you would definitely be in too" "And i bet people would love your blog" and she was right i had about 13 blogs, until i deleted most, lol.

What would you like us to know about your blog, before visiting?
I love gossip, and to dish out on celebrities outfits, so if you are also in to that, you should totally check it out. OhEmGee! Gossip

when i get my followers, i will post everyday (: and that's a promise.

What is your favorite hobby or past time?
Sitting on the computer for endless hours (: hehe, there is so much do between twitter-to-blogging talking with friends, listening to new songs, uploading your new pictures, i never get bored with the computer, never. I am also a bit of a nerd...I love to read an always learning more about computers and html codes.

What item can you not live without?
my ipod <3 i can't live without my music, i always have it attached to my hip (: treat it like a baby, i don't know what i would do if i lost it!

Who is your favorite shoe designer?
My faveeee shoe designer is Pastry by: The Simmons Sisters because I really love sneakers and I love mostly all their kicks, and i have a few pairs myself.

{Feel Good Friday!}

Here goes....my truths!

I had 1 real boyfriend....and I married him!

I'm a mommy x 3...to the best kids EVER!
{You gotta love my 5 year olds "peace out" sign and pouty mouth...But, hey listen they are all equally drama QuEeNs & kiNG! God, I love them!}

I hate wearing high heels, but continue to...cause they make me look fierce!

I don't like hard liquor...but I love me some wine!

I'm not big on desserts...but a girl would kill for some cheesecake!

I don't own credit cards...If I want something, it makes me want to save to get it. {Not always the best plan...sometimes it's gone! lol!}

Sometimes I procrastinate...but when I put my mind to something, you better believe it's the bOmb!

I didn't obtain my driver's license till I was 26...my hubby enjoyed driving me around...but moving to the suburbs made me want it real bad!

This one is funny...I still have 5 baby teeth, that were too lazy to fall out. The dentist says "looking in your mouth I would think I'm looking in the mouth of a 11 year old!"

I love the color "PINK" but I adore all the colors of the good Benjamin Moore color paint clip...he he! What is your favorite hobby or past time?

Hobbies are a passion of mine I love everything that is creative, pretty and pink with splash of elegance and sophistication! Oh Yes my new hobby is my Vivaciously Visioned blog. My favorite past time is a deep passion that when I close my eyes softly and imagine myself playing soccer again one day! Only one item GIRL.........are you serious! Hmmm that’s a hard one, but I need at least a few items to keep in touch with with the girl in me......my peek-a-boo heels along side with my flats - you know we can only rock those babies so long! Designer shoes.....let me check my undisclosed walk-in closet for my favorite pair......well since I am huge lover of Gucci designer wear I guess I’m all over that cutest pair of Gucci's peek-a-boo’s I can find!

One of my favorite colors for Interior spaces has to be Turquoise. I love the fresh feel and adore the sense of renewal. I love it in a washroom and also in a bedroom...I've found some interiors where this color was unexpectedly use in a kitchen. and foyer..It's fun, energetic and full of life! The next time you're considering a fun color choice, try turquoise...No doubt this color choice will definitely turn heads!

What are your blogging inspirations?

Outside of just life in general, I'd say my blogging inspirations come from looking at anything and everything that I can get my hands on: fashion spreads to architectural magazines, graphic design web sites to home interior catalogs.

How did you begin blogging?

I began blogging a few years ago because I love to write. Over the years I have jumped around- creating different blogs here and there- but never really sticking to one. Last September I finally found my niche when I created Brunch at Saks, as it allows me to express my love for fashion, art, design, and home decor.

What would you like us to know about your blog, before visiting?

I strive to give you visual eye candy galore!

What is your favorite hobby or past time?

I love spending time with my boyfriend and family doing pretty much anything. Living in Los Angeles we are fortunate to have a lot of fun activities in our backyard, so we spend a lot of time shopping at The Grove, going to eat at the Country Mart in Malibu, or just going on walks through Griffith Park. Anytime I am with him and my family I happy!

What item can you not live without?

I would love to say something studious here, like my daily dose of the New York Times, but unfortunately I can't say that is the case. Without a doubt, my Blackberry has to be the one item that I cannot live without. I do everything on my little hand held partner-in-crime: text, Twitter updates, email, Facebook- I even play the occasional Brick Breaker game when I am waiting for appointments and such. The last time I was in with my doctor she advised to go on a tech-free diet and put the Blackberry away for 7 days and you would have thought she asked me to run in traffic! I lasted until the parking lot! HA!

Who is your favorite shoe designer?

Just one?! Being a huge Sex & the City fan I would have to say Manolo Blahnik, but Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin are tied for a close second!

The memorial held for MJ today was so amazing! The wonderful tributes were Off the wall and made everyone Come together to Say, say, say...You were there, Another part of me and others wanted us to Remember the time...His Human Nature made us realize We are the world and forced us to view The man in the mirror. Speechless was the way I felt as some sang tribute...Thank you...You rocked my world! There is no doubt that MJ was...Gone too soon!

I know that the color pink could be a hit or miss with some. It's a hit for me! My husband won't allow a pink room...even if I tried all the tricks in the book! Having an adult pink bedroom could be so much fun and charming. "I know I'm a big girl now...but, I sure do loves me some pink!"

So, it's truly a sad day for music & icon history...The ultimate King of Pop Music and one of Charlie's angels has passed away! Michael Jackson was an extraordinary man and he helped shape the sound of music as we know it today...Growing up in the 80's, I remember watching and dancing hard to his music videos in my parents retro living room, the red leather thriller jacket my brother and I sported and the birthday parties, where my dad blasted MJ tunes...I also tried to feather my hair the way the gorgeous Farrah did...Unfortunately it didn't work...She worked that hairstyle out, like no other could! Wow, the memories! I though I would share some 80's interiors; just for the memories.

I have always had a passion for different hues of the colour purple...My faviorite has to be the dramatic plum colour, which I will feature in a later post...It is so yummy paired up with chocolate brown. Fresh with yellow accents. Dramatic with cobalt blue or even acid green! Lilac is a very serene colour and when introduced to a whole lot of white...You have introduced yourself to an alternative palette to the common serenity of ocean blue. I have chosen some picks that plays with a few different options and styles...Very yummy, please enjoy!

{Mother's Day Brunch}

I had an amazing day, today...with my little 5 year old daughter. I was invited to a Mother's Day Brunch. The venue...The kindergarten classroom. The menu...Tea sandwiches, veggies, fruits, pretzels, cookies with punch, tea and coffee. The Hostess & Chef...My 5 year old daughter aka "Cookie!" All the mother's were invited to partake in a event that was to be remembered forever! The children had been practicing for over a month for this special day and they were brilliant! They sang "Mother's Day" songs, prepared & served us lunch, Tidy up after us...Made place settings, cards & floral arrangements. Thanks "Cookie" for a most fabulous day! xoxo
